Volunteering at GCDC
Volunteering with the Glassboro Child Development Centers helps to support the agency's mission in empowering and assisting parents with the development of their children. We thank you for your interest in volunteering with the GCDC. With your service, you help us make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community!
All volunteers should be at least 18 years of age and able to successfully complete fingerprinting and background checks.
Some volunteer positions are available for students aged 13-17.
Here are some opportunities available:
Teacher/ Assistant Group Leader - provide assistance in planning and providing activities with children in the program. Job duties might include greeting children and parents, indoor and outdoor activities, reading stories, homework assistance, mealtime tasks, assisting with observations and attending training and staff meetings.
Activity Specialists - special enrichment providers share their special talents, hobbies and expertise in areas such as arts and crafts, music, magic, gardening, karate, dance, storytelling, etc.
Maintenance - especially good match for a retired person who can assist with changing light bulbs, air filters, minor plumbing, mechanical, cosmetic repair, painting and inspections of the facility.
Office Assistant - with general office tasks such as filing, shredding, greeting clients, processing mail, and assisting with agency fundraising.
**February 2021 due to COVID-19 Restrictions, volunteers are welcome to assist with donation collections, diaper drives and fundraisers, virtual storytimes, etc but may not physically enter our program buildings.
